Frontier High School ASB student Alyxandria Phillips was recently selected to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) leadership conference, held during the last weekend of April in Idyllwild Pines.
Sponsored by Rotary clubs from throughout District 5320, the program is an intensive three-day leadership experience in which 180 high school students built communication and problem-solving skills, discovered strategies to become a dynamic leader, and learned from community leaders, inspirational speakers and peer mentors.
While at Frontier, Phillips has received multiple awards every quarter, including Top Producer, Student of the Term and Sophomore of the Year.
Phillips, a junior, has been in ASB for two years and has risen to be leader on campus. She has participated in California Association of Directors of Activities (CADA) leadership workshops and Student Chamber, serves on the Superintendent's Student Advisory Council and participates in a variety of campus clubs.
"She is a quiet leader who is blossoming socially," Assistant Principal Richard Rodriguez said. "She is highly motivated and is an advocate for our campus, always doing what's right and safe for her peers."
