Superintendent's Message

December 2025

Dear Whittier Union High School District Community,Superintendent Dr. Monica Oviedo

December has been a time of unity at Whittier Union, as students and staff have come together to host fun-filled holiday activities that bring our school communities closer and set the tone for the holiday season.

We’ve also had the pleasure of seeing our visual and performing arts students take center stage during annual winter concerts and their participation in Whittier’s Annual Uptown Christmas Parade. It was inspiring to see our District community come out to cheer on our students as they showcased their talent, skill, and holiday spirit.

This season reminds us of the power of community and connection. From classroom celebrations to school-wide events, the energy and excitement of our students, staff, and families highlight the warmth and generosity that define Whittier Union.

As we celebrate the holidays, I hope everyone has a chance to rest, reflect, and enjoy special moments with family, friends, and loved ones. Please note that our winter break runs from Monday, December 22, through Monday, January 5, 2026.

As we prepare to welcome a new year, we do so with the same mission in mind, “To Achieve and Maintain Excellence.” On behalf of the Whittier Union High School District, I wish you all a joyful holiday season and a happy New Year!

Sincerely,
Dr. Monica Oviedo
Superintendent
