Superintendent's Message

November 2025

Dear Whittier Union High School District Community,Superintendent Dr. Monica Oviedo

As we reflect on the month of November, Whittier Union continues to be a place where the strength, passion, and dedication of our students, staff, and community truly shine. November brought countless moments that reminded us what makes our District exceptional—from inspiring student achievements to the unwavering support of families and educators who work together to lift every student toward success.

We hope our entire Whittier Union community enjoyed a restful and fulfilling fall break, spending meaningful time with family, friends, and loved ones during the Thanksgiving holiday. At Whittier Union, we are deeply grateful for the community that surrounds our schools; one that consistently champions our students and ensures they have access to the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive.

November has also been filled with excitement across our campuses. Our student-athletes and visual and performing arts students have demonstrated tremendous talent, skill, and commitment. From league championships and CIF matchups to dynamic band and color guard performances, our students continue to show that a Whittier Union education goes far beyond preparing them for college and careers—it also empowers them to excel in their passions and extracurricular pursuits.

As we enter the final weeks of the fall semester and look ahead to the last month of the year, we remain steadfast in our commitment to doing Whatever It Takes to fulfill our mission, “To Achieve and Maintain Excellence.”

Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work together to ensure every student reaches their full potential.

Sincerely,
Dr. Monica Oviedo
Superintendent
