Superintendent's Message

The 2026-27 school year is officially underway! I hope everyone enjoyed a restful summer break and returned to campuses refreshed and ready for another successful school year. Over the summer, District personnel worked tirelessly to prepare each campus and ensure students returned to well-equipped spaces designed to help them thrive. 

 

As we prepared for the new school year, District principals and administrators came together for professional development, goal setting, and fun team-building activities. We then welcomed students and staff back through our traditional back-to-school events, beginning with Day One on August 10 and Freshman First Day on August 11. These events gave staff and students an opportunity to reconnect, build relationships, and get ready for the year ahead.

 

The festivities culminated with the First Day of School on August 12, where more than 9,200 students were greeted by enthusiastic staff and student leaders, music, balloon arches, posters, and excitement. It was wonderful to see our schools come alive again, and we are looking forward to seeing the new heights our students will reach this year.

 

Back to School Nights are also in full swing and will continue into September. These events are designed to provide students and families the chance to learn more about their school and programs, meet teachers, and get connected to their school community.  

 

We are also kicking off the school year with our annual College and Career Fair on Wednesday, September 9. Hosted by La Serna High School at the United Sierra Education Center campus, the event is an excellent way for students, families, and community members to explore college and career opportunities. We hope to see you there!

 

The 2026-27 school year is already off to a great start, and I look forward to all the achievements, growth, and opportunities ahead. Together, we will continue doing Whatever It Takes “To Achieve and Maintain Excellence.”
