Superintendent's Message

April 2024

Dear Whittier Union High School District Community,Superintendent Headshot

April has been an incredibly successful month for Whittier Union High School District. Our students, teachers, and staff are living our motto, Whatever It Takes, by achieving remarkable success and reaching new heights in both academic and extracurricular activities.

This month, we celebrated our students' achievements in various ways. Many of our students were recognized for their academic dedication, earning scholarships to support their post-secondary education. Our Board of Trustees also recognized a remarkable student with an Award of Merit for their grit and determination, while one of our leadership programs earned accolades for their outstanding contributions.

Our students have also been exploring their career interests, attending Career Fairs across the District and taking part in Career Technical Education class tours at our Whittier Union Adult School. These events provide students with valuable insights into potential career paths and the trades that excite them, ensuring they have clear directions for their futures.

As we approach the final months of the school year, we encourage our students to take advantage of the resources Whittier Union offers. We know that this time can be stressful with exams, final projects, and other year-end commitments. Our wellness centers are available for students to de-stress and participate in mindfulness activities. Additionally, you can find more information on our website about resources that can help you manage stress and maintain balance.

Thank you to our entire Whittier Union community for your continued support and partnership. Together, we will finish the school year strong, guided by our District's mission, "To Achieve and Maintain Excellence."

Sincerely,
Dr. Monica Oviedo
Superintendent
